Workshop on animal diseases concludes

UVAS hosts international workshop to spread awareness about disease diagnosis and solve livestock farmer issues

Department of Pathology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in collaboration with Davis Thompson Foundation and Global Health Pathology Network arranged a three-day 4th international workshop on ‘Pathology of Animal Diseases’ at City Campus on Wednesday.

UAS Vice Chancellor Dr Nasim Ahmad presided over the concluding ceremony of the workshop and distributed certificates among participants and resource persons while Principal CVAS Jhang Dr Fiaz Qamar, Director Chughtai Lab Dr Umar Chughtai, Chairman Department of Pathology Prof Dr Asim Aslam, Prof Dr Corrie Brown from University of Georgia USA, Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed, representatives from pharmaceutical industry, professionals from public & private sectors, post-graduate students, researchers and professionals were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nasim Ahmad said such workshops are necessary for learning about latest knowledge, using and interpretation of tools related to disease diagnosis to solve livestock farmer issues.

He advised all the participants to spread knowledge with other professionals which learnt from this training. He also acknowledged the role of Prof Dr Corrie Brown for imparting best practices and knowledge to participants of workshop.

Various aspects have been discussed during workshop related to fundamental principles of morphological diagnosis, calf diarrhoea with focus on pathogenesis, diseases.
