DHA signal mugging suspects caught

Two suspects wanted to the police for robbing a citizen on the traffic signal of Khyban-e-Bahria in DHA on Tuesday were caught after an alleged encounter with the Civil Lines police in the early hours of Wednesday.

SHO Civil Lines Israr Hussain told The Express Tribune that during snap checking on the Thandi Sarak near Hijrat Colony a squad signaled two suspicious persons riding a motorcycle to stop.

The suspects, later identified as Zeeshan and Umer, opened fire at the police party and tried to escape. Police returned fire injuring Zeeshan. He was rushed to hospital while Umer was locked up in Civil Lines police station for further action.
