Sindh United Party to contest polls from GDA platform

Party will hold public meeting to discuss matter

HYDRABAD:

The Sindh United Party’s leaders, who led a long march starting from Sukkur three weeks ago, announced at a public meeting in Hyderabad on Tuesday that their party will contest the next general elections from the platform of the Grand Democratic Alliance. The party’s Vice President, Roshan Ali Buriro, said the leaders of SUP and GDA have already reached an agreement. At the same time, the Election Commission of Pakistan has also been apprised of it.

He raked the Pakistan Peoples Party’s leadership over the coals, saying the Zardari league has destroyed the province’s economy and society. “They drowned the whole province in preventable floods at least twice, displacing tens of millions each time,” he said.

Buriro went to hold the PPP’s leaders responsible for allegedly turning Sindh into a lawless jungle. “The political opponents of the PPP contesting the elections are booked in FIRs lodged under Anti Terrorism Act.”

Buriro reiterated the concerns of the Sindhi nationalist parties against the digital population census, saying a conspiracy is being executed to reduce the native population of Sindh into a minority.
