Easy pickings for muggers on DHA signals

A gang of four armed men continue to rob people on traffic signals of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), with a series of videos capturing their brazen hold ups.
The gang of four street criminals on two motorcycles have been holding up and robbing people on the signals of Khayaban-e-Shahbaz, Khayaban-e-Shujaat, Khayaban-e-Hafiz and Khayaban-e-Badr, sources told The Express Tribune.
Police have failed to arrest any of the accused so far.
South district SSP Asad Raza said that the photos of the four suspects have been obtained from CCTV footage of area near the signals where these muggings were reported. He said police are conducting raids to arrest these muggers.
The bike-mounted anti-street crime police unit, Shaheen Force, shot dead a suspect in the upscale neighbourhood of DHA Phase II in the early hours of Tuesday. The Shaheen Force officials claim the deceased was a robber and was killed in an exchange of fire. Defence police station SHO Shoaibur Rehman said that the deceased, Ali Akbar had a criminal record.
