ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister of Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar has urged all politicians to show unity and converge on one platform to take the country out of the economic crisis.

Addressing the newly-elected cabinet of the Islamabad High Court Journalists’ Association after a swearing-in ceremony, the minister condemned the incident of violence against journalists on the premises of the Islamabad High Court and said that it was the responsibility of the government and not the high court.

He said that whatever such incidents happen, the responsibility falls on the executive.

He said that power was transient in a democratic system but one should work with honesty and good intentions.

He said that the people were the real masters of the country and they were accountable to them.

He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken a briefing on the PECA Act and the matter remained confined to the Act.

The federal law minister said that there was a need to pave the way for negotiations to resolve the issues.

He said that there was an opportunity for political leaders to sit together for the revival of the national economy.

He said that if they could not agree on the economy, there was a need to find a better solution.
