Aaliya wants more money: Nawazuddin Siddiqui rubbishes rape claims made by wife
Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has issued a statement regarding allegations levelled against him by his former wife, Aaliya Siddiqui. The actor, who had kept mum on the matter until now, has shared his version of events on social media. Aaliya had accused Nawazuddin of rape and went on to allege that he had thrown her and their two kids out of their Mumbai home.
Nawazuddin, however, has shared that Aaliya and he have not lived together for years and are already divorced. Sharing his statement on social media, he wrote, "This is not an allegation but expressing my emotions."
Nawazuddin shared in his note, "I am termed as a bad guy everywhere because of my silence. The reason I have kept quiet is that all this tamasha (drama) will somewhere be read by my small children. Social Media Platforms, the press and a bunch of people are really enjoying my character assassination on the basis of one-sided and manipulated videos."
The Sacred Games actor went on to express a few points. "First of all, I and Aaliya do not stay together for several years, we are already divorced but we definitely had an understanding only for our kids," Nawazuddin revealed. "Does anyone know, why my kids are in India and not attending school for 45 days, wherein the school is sending me letters every day that it’s been too long an absence? My kids have been made hostage for the past 45 days and are missing their schooling in Dubai."
Addressing the financial issues raised by his wife, where she alleged that her former husband had not paid a penny under child support, Nawazuddin further added, "She had abandoned the kids in Dubai for the last four months before calling them here on the pretext of demanding money. On average, she is being paid approx INR1 million per month for the past two years and INR500,000 to 700,000 per month before moving to Dubai with my children, excluding the school fees, medical, travel and other leisure activities."
He further detailed, "I have also financed her three films costing me crores of rupees, just to help her set up her income stream since she is the mother of my kids. She was given luxurious cars for my kids, but she sold them and spent the money on herself. I have also bought a lavish sea-facing apartment in Versova, Mumbai for my children. Aaliya was made the co-owner of the said apartment as my kids are small. I have given my children a rented apartment in Dubai, where she was also living comfortably. She only wants more money and hence has filed numerous cases against me and my mother. It’s her routine, she has done the same in the past too and withdraws the case when paid as per her demand."
Talking about his two children, Nawazuddin added, "Whenever my children came to India during their vacation, they used to stay with their grandmother only. How could anyone throw them out of the house? I myself was not in the house during that time. Why didn’t she make a video of being thrown out, whereas she makes a video of every random thing? She has dragged the kids into this drama and she is doing all this to simply blackmail me, malign my reputation, her intent to spoil my career and fulfill her illegitimate demands."
The Gangs of Wasseypur actor concluded his statement by adding, "Any parent on this planet will never want their kids to miss out on their studies or hamper their future, they will always try to give their best of the best possible things. Whatever I am earning today is all for both of my kids and no person can change this."
He shared, "I love Shora and Yani and I will go to any extent to secure their well-being and their future. I have won all the cases so far and will continue to place my faith in the judiciary. Love is not to hold one back, but to let one fly in the right direction."
About Aaliya and Nawazuddin's turbulent relationship
Last month, Aaliya claimed that the actor has evicted her and their two minor children from their home in the dead of the night. She shared a video on social media, showing herself standing with her kids standing outside a bungalow in darkness, with Shora crying on the road.
“This is the reality of Nawazuddin Siddiqui who has not spared his own innocent children,” Aaliya said in the detailed video post. She said that she had left the house with her kids after 40 days to go to the Versova Police Station, but when they returned, her husband’s security guards did not let them inside.
In another instance, Aaliya filed a case against the actor for forcing himself on her. She shared a video on her Instagram, calling the actor ‘badtameez’ (ill-mannered). She went on to accuse him and his family wanted custody of their children.
In the caption, she wrote in Hindi, "A great actor, who tries to be a great human being often! A heartless mother who calls my innocent child illegitimate and this man keeps quiet. A rape complaint (with proof) was filed at Versova police station yesterday. Whatever happens, I will not let my innocent children go into these heartless hands."
The Gangs of Wasseypur actor and Aaliya, née Anjali Kishore Panday, have had a turbulent relationship for over 10 years. The couple made headlines in 2020 after Aaliya filed for divorce. However, she later called the separation off in 2021 after she had a change of heart.
