Weatherman predicts heat waves in March, April, May
There are chances of heat waves in Pakistan in the months of March, April, and May this year, according to a weather forecast report of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD predicts normal rainfall in most parts of the country, while the northern areas of KhyberPakhtunkhwa and most parts of Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to receive slightly less than normal rainfall. Similarly, day and night temperatures are expected to be above normal in most parts of the country.
The PMD report states that the Rabi crops may ripen earlier than time due to a possible increase in heat in the coming months. The Kharif crops may also require additional water. Pollen season may start early in Islamabad and Lahore due to the rising temperatures and dry weather.
As per the report, the current atmospheric conditions also indicate the onset of heat waves in the plains. Agricultural and domestic water use is likely to increase in future due to rising temperatures.
