The colorful Jashan-e-Baharan began on Sunday. Commissioner Silwat Saeed and Deputy Commissioner Ali Annan Qamar formally inaugurated the festival by cutting a ribbon in Jinnah Bagh and went to traditional stalls and talked to the stall holders.
The Commissioner said that fairs and seasonal festivals are an important part of our civilization and culture and not only provide entertainment, but also promote mutual love and different skills. They are also helpful in promoting the arts.
She added that spring has a pleasant effect on mental health with colorful flowers and fragrant greenery. At the same time, an atmosphere of fraternity and moral values can be promoted, which is the reason why special attention is paid to organizing these fairs regularly. The Commissioner appreciated the grand celebrations of Jashan-e-Baharan under the auspices of the district administration and asked the citizens to participate and enjoy with their families.
The DC stated that the main events will be held at Bagh Jinnah, Iqbal Stadium, Arts Council and Agricultural University, while events were also scheduled at Parveen Shakir Auditorium, Sports Complex Samanabad, GC University New Campus and other locations.
