DHA to report on infrastructure
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Saturday to submit a report on the status of road construction and civic work under the newly constructed Gizri flyover till August 16.
The division bench heard the petitions filed by the residents of Khayaban-e-Hafiz against violations of environmental laws committed during the construction of the flyover. Mandatory legal requirements, regarding the environmental effects of the project which were not fulfilled during the construction of the flyover, were submitted. The SHC stated, “DHA shall be liable to legal consequences, besides being liable to making suitable compensation to any affected persons in strict accordance with the law.”
