PTI govt accused of starting projects ‘without funds’

K-P C&W minister says roads in merged districts will be completed on time

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Caretaker Communication and Works Minister Muhammad Ali Shah has said that the previous provincial government started projects without allocating funds for it and the caretaker set-up is now trying to complete the construction of road in the merged districts.

He said that the government was trying to restart construction work on Haji Lawang to Pasht Road and every step would be taken to complete it this time.

“The previous government started the work on this important road in Salarzai but left it unfinished due to lack of funds,” he noted, adding that the previous government started such project due to unknown reasons.

Talking to a delegation of local elders during his visit to Bajaur tribal district on Saturday, he said that the caretaker government is trying its level best to solve the problems faced by the newly merged tribal districts.

“We are trying to solve the issue of payment of salaries of the employees of Pasht Hospital, Bajaur, ensure the just distribution of official flour in the district and restart the constriction of this important road project to solve the problems of the local residents,” he maintained, adding that all the demands of the local residents would be met one by one.

He also visited the Pasht Hosptial in Salarzai tehsil which is being run on public-private partnership basis.

“Let me assure you that the salaries and dues of the staff would be released as soon as possible,” he said.

He also directed the district administration to ensure the fair distribution of the official flour across the district.

Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Anwarul Haq, former MPA Shahabudin Khan, tribal elders Malik Hafiz Rehman, Malik Fazal Rabbi, Malik Muhammad Yar Kasai, Malik Abdul Salam, Malik Gul Karim Khan and others were also present on this occasion.
