A provisional polling scheme, which will be finalised in the next two weeks, has been prepared for the 15 provincial seats of Rawalpindi district for the Punjab Assembly elections to be held on April 30.

According to the scheme, there will be a total of 2,834 polling stations for the 15 provincial seats of the Rawalpindi district, of which 931 will allocate for male and 826 for female voters while 1,023 polling stations for both male and female voters.

A total of 6,827 polling booths are proposed to be set up in these polling stations for transparent elections, out of which 3,560 will be for male and 3,267 will be for female voters.

A total of 2,834 presiding officers, 13,654 assistant presiding officers and 6,827 polling officers will be posted for duty in these polling stations.

The polling staff will be drawn from the district administration, education, health and local government departments. Sources said the proposed polling scheme of district Rawalpindi has been submitted to the competent authority.
