She made massive sacrifices as a mother: Virat calls Anushka an inspiration

Previously, Kohli opened up about how his bad form had been unfair to his superstar wife

In January this year, Indian batsman Virat Kohli opened up about his relationship with Anushka Sharma, revealing how his bad form had been unfair to his superstar wife.

In a recent interview, Kohli shared how Sharma had made 'massive sacrifices' as a mother, adding when that saw how his wife led her life made him realise that 'whatever problems he had were nothing'.

"The way things have been in the past two years, we have had our child and, as a mother, the sacrifices that she made have been massive. Looking at her, I realised whatever problems I had were nothing. As far as expectations are concerned, as long as your family loves you for who you are, you don’t expect much because that is the basic requirement," Virat said during his recent RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) podcast.

Virat further spoke about how Anushka inspires him. He said, "When you look for inspiration, you start from home and, obviously, Anushka has been a big inspiration for me. My life had a completely different perspective. When you fall in love with a person, you start processing those changes within you as well. Her outlook towards life was different and it urged me to change for the better and become more accepting of things."

The batsman, in an interview with Cric Info, shared that he had been cranky and snappy during his bad spell in sports.

“I was not able to perform because of my desires. I realized that I needed to be true about my game. If I was the worst player, I needed to accept it,” Kohli shared. “I was cranky and snappy, and that wasn’t good for my wife, Anushka Sharma and other family members. So I had to take responsibility and put things into perspective.”

The return in form gave him a very important lesson. "I returned to the Asia Cup 2022 with a very relaxed mind and started enjoying my batting. So if there is desperation, take a step back instead of going behind your goal, as it will go further away from you.”

Sharma has been through thick and thin with the cricketer's glittering career. Last year in October, she took to social media and praised Kohli's stellar inning that propelled India to win a thrilling match against Pakistan.
