Security put on high alert in capital ahead of matches
Police put security on high alert in the federal capital during the visit of Pakistan Super League teams to the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Security personnel have been deployed at all entry and exit points of the hotel, where cricketers and entourage of teams will be staying.
Police said that verification of the hotel staff was being ensured, and reserve police were being deployed around the hotel.
Police said that safe city smart cars and mobile jammer vehicles will also be deployed along the motorcade of the teams to ensure security and surveillance. A team of police commandos equipped with modern weapons will also perform duty along with the convoy.
Pakistan army, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary and Counter-Terrorism Department personnel will also perform route duties. Air surveillance will be carried out with the help of modern cameras.
Search and combing operations will be carried out in slum areas along the motorcade route. Keeping in view the convenience of the public, alternative routes will be announced to ensure traffic flow throughout the city, police said adding that all available resources were being used to ensure the security of foreign and domestic players and maintain law and order throughout the city.
