Two held for operating illegal nursing schools
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) during a crackdown against illegal nursing colleges and schools arrested two persons on Wednesday.
According to the FIA officials, a team conducted raids in Rawalpindi and other areas and arrested the accused identified as Sardar Basharat Siddique of the Sadozai Institute of Medical Sciences in Rawalpindi and Muhammad Saeed of PICE College of Nursing.
The investigation agency also launched a probe into the conduct of these institutions, the sources said.
They also said a case was also registered against the owners of the nursing colleges. The officials informed that the institutions had invited applications for admissions on various social media platforms despite lacking valid licenses. They also accused the arrested suspects of minting money from aspirants on the pretext of admissions.
As per the officials, the institutes operated without adequate faculty, labs, and other facilities.
They had also signed several fictitious memoranda of understanding (MOUs), sources added.
Deputy director Rana Shahid Habib said the crackdown against illegal nursing colleges and schools would continue without discrimination.
