HYDRABAD:

A large number of people belonging to the Marri tribe protested outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Wednesday against the gruesome murder of a woman and her two sons of their tribe in the Barkhan district of Balochistan.

The protests held banners against the leader of the Khetran tribe, who has been accused of the murders. Those who spoke at the protest said that Balochistan minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khaitran was holding several members of Khan Muhammad Marri's family in illegal confinement.

Somehow, the woman was able to make a video that quickly went viral on social media. Shortly after, the mutilated and tortured bodies of the woman and her two sons were found from a well.

Marri has since said that five other family members were still in Khetran's custody.

They called for Khetran arrest and the release of the five people who were imprisoned by him.

On Wednesday evening, police confirmed to The Express Tribune that Khetran had been arrested in connection with the murders.
