Hera Pheri fans have been through a lot with news surrounding the film and its third addition to the franchise. From reports of Akshay Kumar backing out from the project to the possibility of him returning as Raju to exploring options for who’d replace the actor, there were all sorts of speculations.
However, according to Pinkvilla, fans can rest assured now that shooting for Hera Phera 3 has finally kicked off with the OG trio of Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal returning as Raju, Shyam and Baburao. A source close to the production has informed the outlet.
The news, although went viral, was initially made fun of because fans thought it is just clickbait to get them excited but it turns out that it is true after all. The trio met at Empire Studios in Mumbai to discuss the future of this franchise a week ago and reportedly started shooting for Hera Pheri 3 in Mumbai on Wednesday.
“The original Hera Pheri gang reunites to take this cult franchise forward. While ample meetings about the script have happened over the last few months, the team is now confident that Hera Pheri 3 will do complete justice to all the hype and anticipation around part 3 of Hera Pheri. Right from the producer, Firoz Nadiadwala to the actors – Akshay, Paresh and Suniel are all excited with positivity to return on the set as Raju, Shyam and Baburao,” the publication quoted the source.
Interestingly, the first Hera Pheri also went on floors at Empire Studios in Mumbai back in 1999 and now, 24 years later, life is coming full circle for the team. The source also revealed that other actors from the previous Hera Pheri films will also appear in the third part and it might also feature some bigwigs from Bollywood. Details about the full cast and the director are still under wraps.
Nevertheless, the news of the trip returning is enough to keep fans waiting for the iconic comedy film to release already.
