48 centres for wheat procurement planned

Official adds strict blockade would be ensured at the district level

MULTAN:

The divisional administration started arranging a procurement drive for over 800,000 metric tons of wheat.

This was confirmed when the Food department Multan division was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Omer Jehangir on Saturday.

Deputy Director Food Adnan Badar delivered a briefing about the wheat procurement drive, while DC Jehangir said that 48 wheat procurement centres would be set up by the food department.

The official added that a strict blockade would be ensured at the district level to control the smuggling and hoarding of wheat and added that the procurement target set by the government would met.
