Looking ahead: Rs200m for fresh Hyderabad schemes

HYDERABAD:
The Hyderabad district government will be spending one-third of its Rs583 million development budget on new schemes in the fiscal year 2011-12. In a Rs7.2 billion annual budget, the government has set aside Rs200 million for fresh schemes, while Rs383 million will be spent on ongoing programmes said Finance EDO Aijazul Hassan. Of the Rs7.2 billion budget, the government earmarked Rs5.75 billion for education and Rs951 million for health. Last year, Hyderabad used only 65% of its Rs695 million development allocations, revealed the EDO.
