Maryam's DG Khan visit postponed

PML-N sources maintained that Maryam was barred by the local party leaders from coming to the city

LAHORE:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz's visit to Dera Ghazi Khan was postponed on Wednesday over fear of protest by the party workers and local residents following lack of complete restoration of the flood-affected areas.

The party’s chief organiser was scheduled to embark on a two-day visit of DG Khan to address the workers’ convention.

PML-N sources maintained that Maryam was barred by the local party leaders from coming to the city.

Sources said that there was a fear of protest by the PML-N workers and locals due to lack of complete restoration of flood-affected areas.

Earlier, during her Bahawalpur visit, mismanagement was seen on part of the PML-N workers during the organisational meeting.

Maryam had blamed “cabal of five” for the country’s woes, as she started a campaign to set a new party narrative after her return from London a few days ago.

Addressing party’s convention in Bahawalpur, the PML-N leader maintained that the “cabal of five” included PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
