Punjab governor distributes certificates, medals among RMU graduates

RAWALPINDI:

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh Ur Rahman has said that educated and skillful youth are indispensable for the development of the country.

According to a statement, he said the youth should serve the nation through their knowledge and skills, which according to him were the only ways to progress.

The governor was addressing students during the 13th convocation ceremony of the Rawalpindi Medical University where he distributed certificates and medals to the graduating doctors.

Muhammad Baligh Ur Rahman said this was the beginning of a new era in the lives of the students.

He also expressed good wishes for the students and prayed for their better future.

The governor further remarked that the institute was playing a constructive role in the field of health.

“The Rawalpindi Medical University must be proud of its academic standards as it was an asset to the country.”

He also told the newly graduated students to serve humanity with passion.

The Punjab governor informed that RMU ranked second in Punjab in terms of merit admissions and its primary purpose was to conduct research.

On this occasion, the graduating students of the academic session beginning from March 2016 and 2017 were awarded certificates and medals.

Punjab Caretaker Health Minister Javed Akram and Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Minister Dr Jamal Nasir also participated in the convocation.

RMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Umar spoke about the programmes offered by the university.
