HYDERABAD:

A sixth-grade student of a famous chain of school in the Qasimabad area of Hyderabad allegedly ended her life after jumping off from the third floor of the school's building.

The body of the deceased girl was shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for legal proceedings.

The police said that the investigation officers have acquired the Close-Circuit Television (CCTV), in which it was seen that the 12-year-old girl climbed up the fencing wall and jumped from the building.

A crowd of students and school staff gathered around the body when she fell to the ground.

A parent told The Express Tribune that when she reached the school to pick up her son, she saw the panicked environment at the school. "I grabbed my son and left the school in hurry," she added.

In this regard, SSP Hyderabad Amjad Ahmed Shaikh said that a four-member committee has been formed to investigate the alleged suicide incident. He said that the committee will be headed by ASP Alina Rajpar.

As per the police, investigation has been launched in the case and for that school staff and students will be questioned to ascertain the facts behind the incident.

Meanwhile, owing to the incident, the school management has announced a three-day closure from February 14 to 16.
