Imran accused of destroying economy
Adviser to the Prime Minister Engr Amir Muqam on Sunday alleged that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has destroyed the peace and economy of the country through his “flawed policies” and “rampage of corruption” during his four years’ rule in the Centre and 10 years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
Addressing a party workers’ convention, Muqam said that PML-N believed in practical work and would reestablish peace in the country, including K-P, and would take Pakistan out of the difficult economic situation.
He said that Nawaz Sharif’s government had eliminated terrorism and established peace in the country, including in K-P, besides resettling millions of IDPs of the Malakand division, including Swat, in their native areas with dignity.
Muqam, who is the president of the party’s K-P chapter, said that Imran failed to provide 10 million jobs and five million houses to people despite his tall pledges, and the people of K-P would hold him accountable for his “lies-based politics”.
He said that all the mega development projects, including electricity, gas and roads infrastructure, launched by Nawaz’s government for the people of Swat were closed by the former PTI government to deprive the people of development.
He claimed that Imran and PTI’s former lawmakers, including former chief minister Mahmood Khan, would face the people’s wrath in the election.
The premier’s aide said that these pending projects would be completed by the PML-N government for the benefit of the people of Swat.
He said that the people of Swat knew that the Kalam-Bahrain Road, Swat Expressway, and other mega projects for Swat were approved by the government of Nawaz and PTI could not deceive the masses by merely fixing its sign boards.
He said that the former PTI government failed to start any mega development project in K-P in the last five years and deplored the changing of the name of Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital in Swat.
Muqam said that the hospital would be renamed Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital Swat.
“Nawaz Sharif lived in the people’s hearts and through such negative tactics, PTI could not remove his name from the hearts and minds of the masses,” he added.
Referring to Toshakhana and prohibited funding cases, he said that Imran would be held accountable for his “corrupt practices”.
The PM’s aide claimed that Imran had tarnished the country’s image after “stealing” a watch from Toshakhana.
He alleged that a majority of PTI former lawmakers, advisers, and ministers have accumulated billions of rupees beyond known sources of income while the billion trees project was taken over by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which exposed Imran’s anti-corruption slogans.
