ISLAMABAD:

All educational institutions in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) have launched a drive to collect donations for the earthquake victims of Türkiye and Syria.

According to a statement, the campaign was launched at the request of the prime minister to show solidarity with the people of Türkiye and Syria following the deadly earthquake.

Students expressed their commitment to lend a helping hand to the Government of Pakistan in helping earthquake-affected people, who have lost their families and livelihoods due to the calamity, the statement said.

“This is high time that we all rise to help our brethren in need, in every possible way,” it read.

Meanwhile, the students, teachers, and administrators have set up donation boxes at schools to collect donations.

The teachers have also begun motivational sessions for students to encourage them in taking part in this activity.

The school administrations have asked students to contribute to the fund with as little as Rs10.

“Together they can make a difference in the lives of affected people,” the teachers said. Earlier, the Federal Directorate of Education instructed educational institutions to raise funds to help earthquake victims.
