K-P cracks the whip on illegal beauty salons
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission has launched a crackdown against the beauty parlors dealing in illegal procedures in the province.
Official sources told The Express Tribune that on Friday three beauty salons were sealed and 17 others were issued notices which were operated without any registration.
“The HCC has banned the cosmetic clinics in the beauty parlors but several of them are operating illegally and some of them offer even hair transplant facilities and other medical procedures,” said an official, adding that a grand operation has been launched across the province.
“For this purpose six teams have been formed tasked with inspections of these clinics across the province,” he said.
The official observed that 200 such beauty parlors, hair transplant centres and cosmetic clinics were checked in Peshawar.
“Three salons were found without specialist staff and they offered illegal services too so these salons were sealed,” he said, adding that 17 others were operating without registration so they were issued notices.
“It was discovered during the inspections that some of the parlors were offering services only medical sector could provide and for which specialist doctors are required,” he maintained.
He added that all such medical procedures are completely banned and no one will be allowed to violate the rules and regulations in this regard because they are putting lives at risk by operating without specialist doctors.
“Strict action will be taken by the commission if any complaint is received henceforth against these salons and they will have to face the consequences,” he added.
For the time being raids are being made in Peshawar but in the coming days the crackdown will be extended to other parts of the province.
The official said that there will be no compromise in this regard and it would be ensured that the people have access to certified and quality health care across the province.
