Fishermen released from India reach home

They had inadvertently ventured into Indian territory while fishing in the maritime border area around Sir Creek

Twelve Pakistani fishermen, out of 16 released from Indian jails reached Karachi on Thursday.

The four others belonging to Azd Jammu and Kashmir had left for their hometowns from Wagha border. Indian authorities have released 16 Pakistani fishermen who had been imprisoned in Indian jails for several years.

They had inadvertently ventured into Indian territory while fishing in the maritime border area around Sir Creek. The fishermen first reached the Edhi Foundation Center in Kharadar, where they were warmly welcomed by their loved ones and garlanded with flowers. Emotional scenes were witnessed on the reunion.
