Funds sought for scholars studying in US
Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives has directed the Finance Division to immediately resolve the issues being faced by the scholars during the studies in the USA under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor project.
According to a statement, the Pakistan-US Corridor was conceptualised in June 2015 by the then planning minister under ‘Vision 2025’ to boost cooperation between the two countries in the education sector. Under the plan, 10,000 Pakistani scholars were to join US universities.
The statement stated that the key objectives of the initiative were to increase the number and quality of faculty in higher education institutions.
