Wanted robber arrested in police encounter

RAWALPINDI:

Westridge police claimed to have arrested a wanted robber in an injured condition after an alleged encounter that took place near Habib Colony Gate.

Police said that three accomplices of the alleged robber escaped under the cover of fire. The injured suspect has been identified as Mubashir, who confessed to having killed three people during robberies.

According to police, they signalled four suspects on two motorcycles to stop but they started firing at the police. The police retaliated and wanted robber Mubashir was injured while his three accomplices escaped. A motorcycle and a pistol were recovered from the injured robber.

 The arrested robber confessed to killing a cashier and a guard in two different incidents at petrol pumps two years ago.

According to the police, the accused also confessed to killing a citizen named Sardar Masih during a robbery this year.
