K-P police ‘ready to face any eventuality’

IGP orders withdrawal of police guards from individuals not facing serious life threat

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari has ordered withdrawal of police guards from different personalities whose lives are not under serious threat.

He said that a list should be prepared in this regard and it should be submitted to the Central Police Office (CPO) Peshawar soon.

The IGP observed that K-P police is a fighting force and its personnel are the first line of defence against terrorism. This he said while presiding over a conference of police high-ups held via video link on Tuesday.

Additional IGPs investigation, headquarters, operation, commandant Elite Force, FRP, DIGs Special Branch, headquarters, investigation, CTD, SSU, CCPO Peshawar, RPO Mardan and SSP operations attended the meeting while all RPOs and DPOs participated from their place of command.

The top cop said K-P police were in high spirits and ready to face any eventuality with full determination, adding that terrorists will be defeated at all costs.

The IGP further maintained that there is zero space for negligence in K-P police and the unprecedented sacrifices of the police should not go in vain.

All the regional police officers (RPOs) were directed to conduct security audit of different vulnerable places and installations in their jurisdictions and install biometric system on it with the help of NADRA.

They were directed to strictly implement the police operational guidelines issued by the CPO from time to time and fully abide by the law.

The IGP also directed the senior officers to adopt aggressive policing against the terrorists and ensure police presence and timely action so that the general public could feel a sense of safety and security everywhere.

It may be mentioned here that security has been beefed up across the province in general, especially in Peshawar after the deadly Police Lines attack.

Police has published the picture of the suicide bomber in newspapers asking the general public to share information about the attacker and his facilitators. A reward of Rs10 million has been announced for those who would share authentic information about the suicide bomber.

Police said that the bike used in the attack was sold at least 10 times and it was sold twice in the past two months. The showroom owners have been arrested and are being interrogated.

Furthermore, the DNA of the head, body and hair recovered by the police in the helmet used by the suicide bomber has also matched with the samples.
