Man jumps in front of train, dies
A 40-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of an incoming train in Sumanabad on Friday.
A witness told police that Asif Hussain Phatak, a resident of Jwala Nagar Street 2 in Sumanabad, was standing close to the railroad tracks when he laid down on the track as the train approached.
The man was seriously injured and died on the spot.
The Sumanabad police reached the spot on receiving the information and with the help of the Railway Police, they seized the body of the deceased and handed it over to his heirs after necessary action. The police started an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old youth from Syed Wala Road in Nankana was injured after shooting himself in the stomach for an unspecified reason.
The young man was shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition.
The police reached the spot and started their investigation into the incident.
