KARACHI:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Khurrum Sher Zaman submitted two resolutions in the Sindh Assembly addressing the petroleum price hike and the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Netherland.

Addressing the media at the Sindh Assembly, Zaman condemned the petrol price hike by the federal government. "It is a devastating gift from Maryam Nawaz, who kept on telling the nation to be patient as Ishaq Dar had the solutions to the economic problems of Pakistan." he said.

Zaman pointed out that when Imran Khan was removed from his PM seat in a regime change operation, petrol was Rs150 per litre and diesel was Rs144.15 per litre but now petrol is Rs250 per litre while diesel is Rs228 per litre.

The PTI leader said that the record-high prices of petrol and diesel will lead to another wave of inflation that will shatter the poor and middle classes.

In the resolution, Zaman demanded the immediate reversal of the price increases and the resignation of the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Commenting on the second resolution, Zaman condemned the burning of the Holy Quran publicly in Sweden and Netherlands.

He described the desecration of the Holy Quran as a hateful and despicable act hurting the sentiments of all Muslims around the world.

"Our second resolution recommends the government of Pakistan to summon the ambassadors of Sweden and Netherlands and express the strong sentiments and rage felt by the people of Pakistan against the desecration of the Holy Quran," he said.
