Mayor vows to remove all Peshawar encroachments

Conducting around 40 open courts in the city to help provide facilities to the public

Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali has said that the city would be completely cleared of encroachments with the help of local residents and traders.

He noted that serving the residents of Peshawar is the first priority of the district government and no stone will be left unturned to achieve this goal.

This he said while talking to the media on Sunday during his visit to various markets where he interacted with the business community and people from different walks of life.

The mayor said for keeping himself updated and solving the problems he conducted around 40 open courts in different areas of the city. The open courts proved helpful in providing facilities to the public and these will be held in the rest of the district.

Peshawar will be cleared of encroachments, he said, adding, “We invited all the business community and presidents of the markets to the city council hall in which they were briefed in detail about the encroachment, on which they unanimously assured cooperation in enforcement.”

The business community and presidents of the markets wanted time to remove the encroachments and now a regular strategy will be decided and the entire Peshawar will be cleared of encroachments after the expiry of the deadline.

Security beefed up in Waziristan

Police in North Waziristan has tightened security in the district and strict checking is continued at entrances and exits and other important public places.

These steps have been taken while keeping in the view security situation in the country.

For the provision of security to the lives and properties police have increased patrolling and snap-checking.

Police are checking the movement of suspects and vehicles at all established check posts.
