Jenin massacre
One more manslaughter at the hands of the Zionist state. The Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank was the theatre of bloodbath as Israel once again exhibited its barbarism over unarmed Palestinians. The casualty list is inhumane to narrate with more than a dozen killed, including women and children, as trigger-happy soldiers went on a spree. This recent episode was in continuation of arm-twisting tactics that Tel Aviv is obsessed with while dealing with a stateless community in the Middle East. Reports compiled by independent observers put the death toll to more than 170 in the year 2022, and this year’s mayhem is in counting. The point is that there is no retribution fear, and the Jewish state at the behest of the democracy-preaching West is scot-free to maim and brutalise a nation that is merely longing for their basic birth right of freedom.
Israeli crimes against Palestinians have no ending. From the Sabra-Shatila camp to Black Friday massacre in Jordan, and from Aid Flotilla high-sea intervention to periodic Gaza killings, there are tales of death and destruction. But who cares? The world is complacent with resolutions and sympathy briefs, and has never bothered to put the terrorist state in the dock. Moreover, owing to strategic understanding that Israel enjoys with the United States and Europe, as well as Russia, it has nothing to worry about in denying the Palestinians their right to state, life and economic emancipation. None question Israel’s human rights record and there is no follow-up to even censures that Israel faces as a window-dressing measure.
Jenin’s raids are a grim reminder that the Palestinian question is in need of being addressed. At the same time, will someone in human conscience take notice of lethal and pre-planned attacks on hospitals, schools and community centres that Israeli forces had indulged in? Jenin is a destitute camp and what had one of the world’s most advanced technology states to dig out by conducting sorties? This is tantamount to genocide, and the prolonging of fireworks must come to an end. Not sure if anyone is listening!
