Winds from Balochistan bring chill to Sindh
Icy cold gusts from snow swept Balochistan blowing at maximum wind velocity of over 45km per hour kept temperatures low across Sindh on Wednesday.
Lowest temperature of two degree Celsius was recorded in Chhor town of Umerkot district in Thar desert.
Meanwhile in Karachi the mercury dipped to minimum of 5.9 degree Celsius at Jinnah International Terminal early on the morning, while the city's average lowest was around 7.5 degree.
The Early Warning Center of Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a cold wave alert for Thursday and Friday. Winds having, "more than average speed could blow in the city," PMD said adding, due to gusty winds, the intensity of cold may increase.
The high winds travelling south from North East Balochistan will keep the gentle sea breeze at bay for the next few days.
