Pathaan is inching closer to its premiere in theatres on January 25. Typically, whenever a film is about to release, its marketing team ensures hype is created through a variety of interviews involving the cast, as well as fan meet-ups. However, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, this might not be the case with Siddharth Anand's upcoming directorial.
Taking to Twitter, Adarsh explained why the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer will not require a pre-release promotional campaign as the job is already well-done through the popularity of its songs and the trailer.
"First Drishyam 2, now Pathaan's team is following the same strategy: No interviews with any media personnel during the pre-release promotions as they solely relied on songs and trailers to do the talking," detailed the analyst.
Moving on, he also referred to this technique as "a very wise strategy and a step towards the right direction."
Adarsh also attached a screenshot of an earlier tweet to the post which suggested that "stars stop giving interviews to media persons during pre-release promotions as it leads to unnecessary controversies and bans." He then advised other marketing groups to "focus on songs and trailers to sell their film."

According to India Today, Anand has also confirmed that the film's publicity will kick start after the spy-action thriller's debut. “Pathaan marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the movies after four long years. He has had very limited exposure to people in these four years and the hunger to see him is at an all-time high. It’s palpable and that’s what has contributed to the buzz that Pathaan has today,” explained the director.
He then broke his silence on the ongoing speculations about the advertising campaign. He stated, “We want the euphoria around his return to reach a crescendo by January 25. Thus, we will start all our promotional activities only post the release of the film. We are all humbled to be receiving the unanimous love that we are getting for Pathaan so far and we can’t thank people enough.”
