Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan has issued an alert on Tuesday in view of fresh spell of rain and snow in the province.
“Machinery has been moved to the highways to ensure uninterrupted flow of traffic in the event of snowfall,” Provincial Minister for PDMA, Mir Zia Langove said.
The minister mentioned that teams are directed to remain on high alert in view of possible rains, snowfall. No negligence will be tolerated in this connection, Langove added.
Pakistan Army, health department, motorway police, and administration of all districts have been taken on board, Director General PDMA Naseer Nasir told The Express Tribune.
Rescue personnel are present in the areas to be affected by fresh spell of rains and snowfall, the DG added.
In view of the possible closure of highways, orders have been issued to vacate all government rest houses in Ziarat where tourists could be sheltered in the event of any emergency.
“All arrangements have been completed and teams have been formed to restore traffic on national highways,” Director PDMA said.
Warm clothes have been delivered to PDMA Village in Khan Mehtarzai and PDMA control room is functional as well as in full communication with deputy commissioners of all districts, the DG mentioned.
