Pakistani musician Goher Mumtaz's recent Instagram post featuring his former bandmate, Farhan Saeed, has set social media ablaze with many fans ecstatic to see their two favourite Jal duo together.
Taking to Instagram, Mumtaz uploaded a selfie with the Tich Button actor with an interesting caption to tease his followers. "Missing persons?" he playfully asked his fans on the micro-blogging site.
And as expected, the question led to a frenzy online as fans rushed to the comment section of the post in hopes that the popular Jal band is back for a reunion.
"Please bring back that full-throttle Jal. The world was a better place when you guys were together," requested one fan, while another user detailed their excitement at the picture. "The best thing on the internet today, my boys!"
As the Instagram post went viral, more fans chimed in to ask for the two for a long-awaited comeback. "A reunion is desperately needed!" wrote one user, while another demanded to see the "guys together on the stage and in new music albums going forward!"
The Lahore-based band Jal has had a significant impact on Pakistan's music industry. Started by Mumtaz in 2002, Jal members rose to fame after their song Aadat was uploaded on a local web portal. Later Aamir Shazi and Atif Aslam also joined the Pal singer on his endeavour, but after certain highs and lows, Jal stabilised itself as a two-member band.
After Saeed covered Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Halka Halka Suroor, rumours were abuzz that the singer would be calling it quits with his band Jal. On September 3, 2011, Saeed finally confirmed the speculations, disclosing his departure from the band. In April 2013, Mumtaz revealed that he is not looking forward to any more additions to his team with Shazi.
