KARACHI:

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Election Cell filed multiple complaints concerning the electoral irregularities in local elections polling stations in Karachi and Hyderabad.

PPP Election Cell Incharge Taj Haider formally informed the Chief Election Commissioner about the issue of election irregularities and demanded action on it.

The complaints were submitted via email, WhatsApp, Twitter and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) helpline number.

It was stated in one of the complaints that the electoral materials could not reach the New Age Grammar School polling station of UC 7 of PS 124 New Karachi Sindhi Hotel.

Another complaint said that the poor security situation at polling stations 103 and 104 left voters scared after the attack on the PPP election camps in Korangi.

It said that the polling was closed in Ward four of UC 7 of Karachi Central District near Green Sky Grammar School where election staff was not present till 1:30pm, and the polling process could not start.

It has been noted that during the second phase of the local elections, there were complaints of irregularities in voter lists and election commission data, whereas the election candidates were seen interfering with the duties of the polling staff.

The cell also filed a complaint against the PT MNA Faheem Khan for repeatedly visiting various polling stations in the Korangi district.
