TMA staff protest for release of salaries
The employees of local government staged a protest demonstration outside Charsadda Press Club against the non-payment of their monthly salaries under the leadership of President TMA Charsadda Rashid Khan and General Secretary Afsar Ali.
The TMA employees have not been paid for the month of December despite repeated assurances on the part of the provincial and district governments.
Central and Provincial President of All Pakistan Local Government Workers Federation and Chairman of United Municipal Workers Union, Malik Muhammad Naveed Awan, Sawar Khan Takbhai, Raziq Khan Mingora Swat, Zaheer Sheikh Abbottabad, Muhammad Ishtiaq Mansehra Rasheed Khan Charsadda, Waqar Shah, and Khawaja Aftab Elahi addressed the protest and demanded that the abuse and mental torture of municipal employees should be stopped.
They accused that the cleanliness of the city and the municipal services are deteriorating with each passing day due to the non-release of salaries of the LG staff.
The employees of TMEs Karak Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Miranshah, Sarai Norang and ex-Fata TMEs have been deprived of salaries and pensions, death grants, pension commutation for the past several months, they said.
