WCLA to restore Kucha Shah Hussain

The Walled City of Lahore Authority is restoring Kucha Shah Hussain, which is located on the Wazir Khan Mosque's southern side.
The entire Kucha will be restored by January 2024, and over 35% of the rehabilitation work has already been finished. The project cost is Rs90.1 million.
Stabilization and elevation of facades, enhancement of the street surface, a seating space for plantations and tourists, and a café were all included in the rehabilitation work.
The conservation project also involves modernising and enhancing the current infrastructure, which includes sewage lines, electrical lines, water, gas, and telecommunications services.
Direct access to Kucha Hussain Shah is available from the Wazir Khan Square and the mosque. Thirty-one of the famed Kucha's ancient structures are being maintained, and 13 of the houses have already had their facades restored.
WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari said the project's primary goal was to restore and save the historic sites, which would improve the street's aesthetics and the region around the mosque.
