All set for PSP-Muttahida merger
In a major development in the politics of Karachi the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) have decided to merge.
Sources said that a joint press conference will be held in Bahadurabad on Thursday evening. The merger of PSP and MQM-P is expected before the local government elections.
The formula for the merger was decided jointly by both the parties, sources said, adding that Sindh Governor's attempt to unite MQM factions has paid off.
PSP Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaim Khani will reach the temporary headquarters of MQM in Bahadurabad from Pakistan House in the form of a rally and will meet the MQM-P leadership. Later, it will be announced to work jointly through the press conference.
Earlier, the entire leadership and a large number of workers of PSP participated in the MQM's protest against the constituencies, in which MQM convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui invited all the leaders to return, including Mustafa Kamal, Anees Qaim Khani, Dr. Farooq Sattar and all the leaders and workers.
