Jan 29 marathon to promote peace, sports, says commissioner

All arrangements have been finalised for the Fourth Karachi Marathon that will take place at Sea View on Janaury 29.

Presiding over a meeting at his office, Commissioner Karachi Mohammad Iqbal Memon said that the peace and sports activities will flourish with hosting such events in the city.

The meeting, attended by Additional Commissioner Karachi Dadlo Zuhrani, Additional Deputy Commissioner South Tabreez Marri, and Assistant Commissioner Civil Lines Shahab Aslam, discussed the security, registration process and arrangements for the elderly, families and special persons as well as awards to be rewarded to the runners.

"There will be two categories for marathon participants, 12km-long and 7.5km-long, open for men and women," the spokesperson for Commissioner House said.

He said an online link and QR Code will soon be launched for the registration of runners. "Those who are unable to register online can get them registered on the spot," the spokesperson said.
