PESHAWAR:

The Jamiat Ulema Islam District Peshawar held a protest against the flour crisis and back-breaking inflation from Firdous Chowk to Nishtarabad GT Road. Addressing the protesters, provincial and district leaders Asif Iqbal Daudzai, Maulana Maskin Shah, Khalid Waqar Khan Chamkani, Qari Rafiq Shah, Maulana Ahmed Ali Darwish, Minhajuddin Bacha, and others said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has created an inflationary crisis in collaboration with hoarders.

They stated the ban from the Punjab side and the silence of the provincial government is the result of mutual complicity. They claimed that the price of flour in Punjab is 1300 rupees, whereas flour is not available for 3000 rupees under the incompetent government of K-P. The government is patronising the stockists.

They also expressed that the government and the district administration are not taking action against the hoarders.
