JI pushes women to fight for civic amenities
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Karachiites have been kept deprived of basic necessities, including water, gas and power supply, as well as health, education and transportation facilities despite their heavy contribution to the tax base.
He expressed these views while addressing a women convention held at his union council in Karachi, here on Friday. A large number of women residents of the UC participated in the event. JI women wing leaders also addressed the convention.
Speaking on the occasion, he held the Pakistan People Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement responsible for the miseries of Karachiites and said that Karachiites have been paying since long the price for the now-on, now-off romance between the two parties.
He vowed that the JI would continue the journey of progress and development in the city after clean sweep in the upcoming local government elections to be held on January 15.
On the occasion, he appealed masses to join the JI’s Karachi Declaration Convention on January 8 at Baghe Jinnah.
In this backdrop, he said, the upcoming local government elections to be held on January 15 are very important and serve Karachiites as an opportunity to initiate a journey of progress and development for their next generations.
