Security at Police Lines reviewed

Units are checking people entering the city

Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) South Punjab Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan and CPO Shakir Hussain Dawar reviewed the security arrangements at Police Lines Multan on Friday.

SP Gulgasht division Capt (retd) Qazi Ali and In-charge Security Rao Sanobar Ali accompanied him. The CPO briefed the Additional IGP on the foolproof security of police lines and said that all possible measures were being taken. Heavy police forces were deployed for the security of police lines with entry only granted following strict checking.

Teams of Elite Force, Dolphin and Muhafiz squad were patrolling the area.

Every officer present at police lines and offices is alert and ready to deal with any untoward incident with heavy weapons, the briefing said. Intelligence-based search operations were also being conducted.

Additional IGP told officers to be alert and to keep vigilant of suspicious persons. The security arrangements of sensitive and public places were tightened by Multan Police and additional personnel were deployed at sensitive locations.
