PM orders strict implementation of energy saving plan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday ordered the authorities concerned to implement the measures proposed in the national energy conservation plan in the given time frame, stressing that the government would take all possible steps to save the country.
Shehbaz chaired a review meeting on the implementation of the energy conservation plan. The meeting was informed about the progress of the solarisation projects. Officials told the prime minister that solar panels of 1,000 megawatts would be installed at the federal government buildings in the initial phase.
In this connection, bidding would start next week. The process of policy-making for the production of solar panels at the local level had entered the final phase, while consultation with the industries about the manufacturing of solar panels had been completed.
The meeting was also informed that the local industry had been taken into confidence to formulate a comprehensive policy to increase the production of E-bikes, while all new gas geysers would come with conical baffles and by the end of the current year.
