Irregularities detected in purchase of Rs140 million medicines
Alleged irregularities have been detected in the purchase of medicines worth Rs140 million for medical centres operating under the District Health Authority (DHA).
The Primary and Secondary Health Department has formed a team under the director health services to probe the alleged irregularities in violation of PPARA rules.
The medicines had been purchased for tehsil headquarters hospitals, primary health centres and ruler health centres working under the DHA for the year 2021-22 and 2022-23.
The drugs had been purchased through local purchase.
The matter was brought to the notice of the Primary and Secondary Health Department on behalf of the Rawalpindi DHA chief executive.
Sources said that the director health services Rawalpindi has been appointed as an inquiry officer to investigate the matter.
According to sources, an expert on PPRA rules will assist the inquiry officer to probe the alleged irregularities.
