Mercury to drop to eight degrees by Wednesday, says PMD

KARACHI:

The mercury in the city may drop to eight degrees Celsius on Wednesday, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in its synopsis on Monday.

The minimum temperature on Monday remained 11.4 degrees in the city. The speed of icy winds blowing from the northeast direction of Baluchistan was recorded at 20 kilometres per hour.

According to the meteorological department, the sight was reduced to 4 kilometres due to fog engulfing the city in the morning on Monday.

According to the prediction of the Early Warning Centre of the meteorological department, the cold north-east winds from Balochistan would continue to blow towards Karachi.

According to the Early Warning Centre, the weather in the city is expected to remain dry and cold at night, and the mercury may record 8 degrees celsius on Wednesday. There is a possibility of fog in the plains and upper Sindh in the morning.
