Jamshoro police busted 84 gangs in ‘22

At least 1,067 thieves, 361 street criminals including 41 mobile snatchers were arrested besides five armed robber

Police of Jamshoro eliminated 84 gangs and also arrested 738 fugitives in hiding and 233 wanted criminals in the year 2022. According to the annual report issued by the spokesman of the district police Jamshoro, 138 prominent criminals were also arrested in different cases.

At least 1,067 thieves, 361 street criminals including 41 mobile snatchers were arrested besides five armed robber. According to the report 73 members of car-lifter gangs were also arrested in different operations and 96 cases were registered against them.

Annual report said that during operations against drugs and narcotics, 197 drug dealers have been arrested and 168 cases have been filed against them. At least 3.34 kilogrammes of heroin, 101kgs of hashish, 59kgs of bhang, 1.5kgs of opium, and 531gms of methamphetamine Ice, besides 190 litre of moonshine and and 521 bottles of smuggled foreign liquor were seized from various culprits during the justended year.

As per the district police spokesperson, 203 motorcycles were recovered which either snatched or stolen from other cities including Karachi. Similarly, 246 people were arrested and 187 cases were registered against them in the actions against the sale of cancer-causing tobacco chew mainpuri and gutka.

Police seized Rs1,248,355 worth of 59,923 packs of mainpuri and Rs576,000 worth of gutka in addition to 4,000kgs of raw material used for making these highly-addictive tobacco items which have been banned by the Sindh government due to carcinogenic nature. Police also claimed to have arrested 23 extortionists in 187 cases. During 550 operations, 17 big vehicles and 31 small cars were also seized. Cost of these vehicle said to be Rs11,123,000. During 2022, different stolen properties worth Rs7,121,300 were also seized in different crime cases.
