Polish mothers granted custody of two children

IHC orders father to return children after he brought them on visitors visa, refused to send them back

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday gave custody of two children to Polish mothers.

The Pakistani man, who brought the children to Pakistan on a visit visa but did not send them back, formally handed them over to his 'divorced' Polish wives.

The court ordered to take off the names of the children from the exit control list (ECL) and return the children's passports.

The Polish women assured the court to facilitate the meeting of the Pakistani man with the children.

IHC judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the petition of the two Polish women who had sought the extradition of the two children their father had brought to Pakistan after he ‘divorced’ them.

Barrister Aqeel, the counsel for the Polish women, said the children were brought to Pakistan for two to three weeks but they were not sent back.

The lawyer of the Pakistani man said that the court could have taken an opinion from children if they were over seven years of age.

After hearing the children in the chamber, the IHC judge handed over the children to their Polish mothers.
