Trade with UAE rises 23%

Ajman Chamber interested in developing partnerships

ISLAMABAD:

Business leaders in Ajman are keen to develop strong trade partnerships with Pakistan to achieve sustainable growth for the economy of the UAE’s emirate, affirmed Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman Board of Directors of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi at the Ajman Chamber’s headquarters on Saturday.

They discussed economic cooperation, ways to consolidate bilateral relations and examined the available investment opportunities in the industrial, trade, tourism and education sectors in Pakistan.

It was observed that total trade between the UAE and Pakistan reached 19.7 billion UAE dirhams in 2021, with a growth of 23% compared to 2020, while trade between Ajman and Pakistan grew by 30% over the past five years.

Muwaiji praised the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Pakistan, and stressed the importance of assessing opportunities for cooperation and partnership between Ajman and Pakistan in many sectors.

Tirmizi underscored the need for exchange of business delegations to learn about the opportunities in all fields. He expressed hope that the economic potential and opportunities available in both Pakistan and Ajman would open new horizons and help increase bilateral trade and joint cooperation, Emirates’ news agency reported.
